Full Professor at Tianjin University

Lab Members

Yunliang Zang

Professor Yunliang Zang is based in the Academy of Medical Engineering and Translational Medicine at Tianjin University, where he heads the Computational Neuroscience & NeuroAI Laboratory.

His research interests lie in the fields of computational neuroscience, neuroAI, and systems biology.

Prof. Zang completed his PhD in cardiac modeling at Zhejiang University. After a brief postdoctoral experience at UC Davis, he found his true passion: computational neuroscience. His career in this field began while working with Erik De Schutter in Okinawa, a beautiful tropical island, where all his work focused on the neuronal and circuit properties of the cerebellum. Following this, he did a postdoc with Eve Marder at Brandeis University, studying the biological mechanisms underlying neuronal robustness. In 2023, he declined an assistant professor offer from the University of Connecticut and joined Tianjin University as a professor.
